George Russell Claims Pole Position For 2024 Canadian Grand Prix
Mercedes’ George Russell claimed pole position for tomorrow’s 2024 Canadian Grand Prix, edging out Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for the pole after the two drivers tied for the fastest time but Russell won the tiebreaker having recorded his time before Verstappen.
Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez, had a surprise exit in the first qualifying session – back-to-back Q3 exits for Perez – while the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, Jr. recorded and equivalent surprise by failing to get to the final qualifying session in the second qualifying session.
