Subaru, Toyota Can’t Get No Satisfaction For Top Spot
Subaru and Toyota tussled for the top spot in the non-luxury segment of the 2024 American Customer Satisfaction Index Automobile Study, but neither could claim ultimate satisfaction with both racking up a score of 83 to sit atop the study – although Subaru moved up to that spot from last year’s study while Toyota fell to the first place tie with an ACSI score of 83.
Honda finished out the podium at 82, edging out Mazda (81) while Jeep (75), Dodge (74) and last-place Chrysler (71) brought up the rear.
Measuring metrics for the study included driving performance, vehicle safety, dependability, exterior appearance, mobile app quality, gas mileage, technology and warranties.
The luxury segment also featured a two-way tie for first place between Mercedes-Benz and Tesla at 83 with Mercedes moving up to that spot while Tesla remained stagnant.
Lexus – last year’s leader – tied with Cadillac for the final podium position at 82, followed by Audi at 80, then BMW and Lincoln at 79 apiece. Acura was the last place occupant in the luxury segment with an ACSI score of 77.
The study is based on 12,173 completed surveys filled out by customers chosen at random and contacted via email between July 2023 and June 2024.
